Project in Controlled Environment (PRINCE2) Certification in India is a certification program which is granted to organize, manage and execute the project. The origin of this PRINCE2 Certification dates back to as early as 1989 when it was set up by the Central Communications and Telecommunication Agency. It was initially based on PROMPT, a project management method developed by an organization known as Simpact Systems Ltd. PROMPT was established in the year 1975. PROMPT was gradually overtaken by PRINCE when the latter was established in 1989.PRINCE Certification was later developed as PRINCE2 in 1996 and acquired recognition by around 150 European organizations. Nowadays PRINCE2 has been publicly acknowledged and its copyright wrests with the British crown. PRINCE certification is considered to be an efficient certification program and has been regarded as prestigious the world over. It is a benchmark set up by the Government of UK and is considered a recognized certification in the private sector organizations in the United Kingdom and at an international level.

PRINCE2 Certification in India can be obtained by completing either of the two qualification levels, namely PRINCE2 Practitioner and PRINCE2 Foundation. While the former is meant for those professionals who wish to manage the projects within the PRINCE2, the latter is for the beginners who wish to learn the basic principles of PRINCE2.
